# flatnumber Help

> flatnumber is an app for running a residential building as a community of owners: shared expenses, fees, budgets, yearly accounts, meetings and members. These pages explain how to use it, written for volunteer administrators. Each topic is also available as clean Markdown at the linked .md URL.

## Record expenses

- [Create an expense](https://help.flatnumber.com/expenses/create.md): Record money the association has paid — a bill, a repair, the insurance — so the balance and the year's accounts stay true.
- [Scan an invoice with AI](https://help.flatnumber.com/expenses/ai-scan.md): Upload a photo or PDF of an invoice. The AI reads it and prepares a draft expense; nothing is recorded until you check it and confirm.
- [Edit or delete an expense](https://help.flatnumber.com/expenses/edit.md): Correct an expense — its name, description, amount, category or date — or remove it altogether.

## Collect fees

- [Issue fees](https://help.flatnumber.com/fees/create.md): Tell each unit how much it owes the association. Pick one or several units, type the amount and give the fee a clear name.
- [Record a fee payment](https://help.flatnumber.com/fees/register-payment.md): When an owner pays, open their fee and record the amount received. There is no "mark as paid" button — recording the payment is what settles the fee.

## Run the financial year

## Manage members

- [Add another administrator](https://help.flatnumber.com/members/add-administrator.md): Give someone else full administrator access to this association — a fellow owner who shares the work, or the person taking over from you.
- [Suspend, cancel or reactivate a member](https://help.flatnumber.com/members/manage.md): Change whether a member is part of the association — when an owner sells, an administrator steps down, or access needs to be paused.
