An association run by a single person is fragile: holidays, illness or a house move can leave nobody able to record a payment. A second administrator costs nothing and takes a minute.
Steps
- Open the association settings.
- Choose Add administrator.
- Enter their name and email (both required), and optionally their surname and phone.
- Confirm. You will see "Administrator invited."
What happens next
- The invitation is sent straight away — unlike owners, there is no "add now, invite later" option here.
- If they already have a flatnumber account with that email, they get access at once. If not, the email guides them through creating one.
- They appear in the members table as an administrator.
Good to know
Administrators all have the same powers. There is no "junior" administrator: whoever you add can record and delete expenses, issue fees, manage members and change the association's settings. Add people you trust.
Being an administrator and being an owner are separate. If the person also owns a flat, they have two memberships — one for each role — and each can be suspended or cancelled without affecting the other. To give an existing owner administrator access, add them here with the same email they already use.
Administrators always see everyone's real contact details, even those that owners have chosen not to share with their neighbours.
Handing over? Add the new administrator first, check that they can sign in, and only then remove yourself. flatnumber will not let an association end up with no active administrator.
Common questions
Can I have an administrator who is not an owner?
Yes — for example an accountant or a relative who helps with the paperwork.
I added the wrong person. Cancel their membership from the members table. See Suspend, cancel or reactivate a member.
