Your association comes alive when the units have owners attached. You do not need everyone's email on day one: add the people first, finish setting up units and fees, and invite them when you are ready.
Steps
- Open the unit and choose to add an owner.
- Enter their name and whatever contact details you have.
- Choose one of the two buttons:
- Create owner — adds the person and sends nothing.
- Create + Send invite — adds the person and emails them an invitation. This button appears a moment after you type a valid email address.
What happens next
- The owner appears on their unit immediately, invited or not. Fees you issue to the unit are addressed to them.
- If they already have a flatnumber account with that email, they are linked at once and simply see the new association next time they open the app.
- If they do not, the invitation email takes them to a page where they confirm their email address, accept the terms and choose a password. Their name and phone are already filled in from what you entered.
- Either way, the link completes by itself as soon as they sign up with that email — even if they never click the invitation.
Good to know
You can invite later. In the association settings, the members table shows a Send invite chip next to anyone who has an email but no account yet. Use it to send — or resend — the invitation.
The email must match. The invited person has to sign up with the exact address you entered. If they prefer another one, correct it on their member record first.
A unit can have several owners. Add each co-owner separately. All of them see the unit's fees.
An owner who never joins is fine. You can still issue their fees, record their payments and keep their details. They just will not see any of it online.
Common questions
The "Create + Send invite" button is not there. Check the email for typos, then wait a couple of seconds — the button appears once the address is recognised as valid.
They say the invitation never arrived. Ask them to check their spam folder, confirm the address on their record, and use Send invite again.
They own two flats. Add them to each unit with the same email. One account will cover both.
